Klopp reveals Liverpool FC’s January transfer plans

Jurgen Klopp has reiterated that Liverpool will only try to sign players in the January transfer window if the moves make sense.

The Reds have impressed in the first half of the campaign and currently sit second in the Premier League table.

As a result, they have been linked with making several signings in the January transfer window to try and boost their title hopes in the second half of the season.

The latest player to be linked with a move to Anfield is German midfielder Julian Draxler, who looks set to depart Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in the winter window.

Klopp, however, says the club will only look to add to their squad if the moves make sense as at this moment in time he is very happy with his current options.

He said: “If you don’t have biggest injury issues in the world and need players building a line up, only do what you would do in the summer.

“Otherwise you solve a problem for half a year and have another one in summer.

“We always have an eye on the market, it doesn’t mean we can do what we want. I’m really happy with the squad.

“I think I have said it one or two times that if there is something for us that makes sense and is possible because there are other clubs, it’s what we always do.

“What I can say is that we don’t want to convince players with money, we want to convince players with the way we go. We want to have players that are ready to develop.

“We have already very good players and if somebody wants to be a part of this team then they’re very welcome.”
