Liverpool face the prospect of being saddled with Mamadou Sakho until next summer after several Premier League clubs baulked at his potential fee.
Sakho has attracted interest from sides in both England and overseas ahead of an anticipated January exit but the Reds could reportedly struggle to offload him.
The French defender last played professionally for Jurgen Klopp’s side in April prior to failing a UEFA doping test, for which he was later cleared.
He was exiled to the under-23 side following a social media outburst which came in the wake of his banishment from the club’s pre-season tour of America.
The Daily Mail claim that West Ham and West Brom have both made enquiries for Sakho only to be deterred by Liverpool’s demand of a £500,000 loan fee.
Klopp had urged the 26-year-old to pursue a loan spell away, with the Baggies and Stoke City both keen ,but he refused in favour of fighting for his future.
But after being told that he has no prospects at Anfield, Sakho has set his sights firmly on securing a move to another Premier League club.
