West Brom are planning to table a record-breaking bid to tempt Everton target Morgan Schneiderlin.
Ronald Koeman is keen to reunite with the former Southampton midfielder, who has fallen out of favour since moving to Manchester United just 18 months ago.
Talks between the Blues and their Old Trafford counterparts are already in place but the Baggies are reportedly threatening to upset the odds by entering the race.
Tony Pulis is set to sanction a club-record offer of £18 million to United in his efforts to secure Schneiderlin’s services during the January transfer window.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the West Brom manager identified the France international as an ideal candidate to solidifiy his side’s push for a top 10 finish.
Irrespective of where Schneiderlin opts to move next month, he will have to take a pay cut on his current £120,000 per week salary with the Red Devils.
United remain hopeful of recouping their entire £24 million outlay on the 27-year-old which still offers Everton a hope of landing one of their key targets.
