Tottenham are reportedly targeting a move for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley.
Barkley returned to the Blues’ starting line-up for last night’s 2-1 win over Arsenal after being left on the substitutes bench for successive games by Ronald Koeman.
Talks are currently ongoing over a new long-term deal to replace the England international’s existing one, which will expire at the end of next season.
But Spurs are currently planning to lure him away from Goodison Park with a minimum offer of £35 million, according to the London Evening Standard.
Mauricio Pochettino is keen to maximise Harry Kane’s productivity and sees Barkley as the perfect foil for his England team mate at club level also.
A potential move is unlikely to be pursued in the January transfer window but the Lilywhites are said to be exploring the possibility of prising Barkley away.
Pochettino witnessed the Wavertree-born player’s capabilities first-hand as he opened the scoring during the opening day draw with Spurs at Goodison.
