Everton have lined up three goalkeepers to provide competition for Maarten Steklenburg in January.
Ronald Koeman drafted in the veteran Holland international last summer to challenge Joel Robles for the previously vacant Blues’ number-one spot.
Koeman failed in his efforts to lure a second goalkeeper to Goodison Park during the summer transfer window despite numerous links to Manchester City exile Joe Hart.
But the Everton manager is now planning to recruit further in efforts to bolster the strength of his goalkeeping department in the forthcoming market.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Koeman’s former Southampton stopper Fraser Forster is among those in contention despite the complexities behind a deal.
The South Coast club are unlikely to be wlling to allow the England goalkeeper to leave for Everton and increasingly less so in the next month.
