Liverpool FC warned off Bundesliga transfer raid

Borussia Dortmund have warned Liverpool not to waste their time in pursuing a deal for Christian Pulisic.

Pulisic was the subject of interest from Anfield last summer when the Reds saw an £11 million bid for the winger rejected by the Bundesliga outfit.

Jurgen Klopp observed the 18-year-old’s development at close quarters during his final season at Signal Iduna Park in the 2014-15 season.

Klopp’s decision to promote the Pennsylvania-born player during his time at Dortmund underlines his high stock with the Reds manager.

Klopp is understood to have planned to renew interest in Pulisic by returning to his former club with an improved offer in the January window.

But Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc insists that any approach by Liverpool for the promising United States international will be a futile endeavour.

“It’s not worth the effort for Liverpool”, he told Bild.

Pulisic has enjoyed a flying start to Dortmund’s season with two goals and six assists from his opening 14 appearances.
