Liverpool FC set to move for Sevilla stopper Sergio Rico

Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico this summer in a bid to increase their options between the sticks.

Rico was part of Sevilla’s Europa League winning side last season, and he has been rewarded with his rise to first choice with a place in the Spain senior squad this month.

It is unclear whether Rico would join as first choice ahead of Simon Mignolet, or to provide competion as second choice.

His transfer is likely to see the exit of either former Bolton Wanderers keeper Adam Bogdan or youngster Danny Ward.

Rico’s signing could be part of a major summer overhaul of the Liverpool squad by manager Jurgen Klopp as he seeks to put his stamp on the club.
