Jurgen Klopp fires transfer warning shot to Liverpool FC players

Jurgen Klopp has fired a warning to Liverpool’s players that anyone who does not want to be part of his Anfield vision is welcome to leave.

The German’s words come in the wake of yesterday’s 3-2 defeat at Southampton, during which the Reds had held a commanding two-goal advantage before their subsequent second-half capitulation.

A number of high-profile players have absconded from Liverpool in recent years, including Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling, and Klopp, who is expected to ring the changes this summer, insists that any want-away figures among the current crop will not be forced to stay against their will.

He said: “If a player wants to go to another club then I’d always be open because I don’t want a player in my squad who doesn’t want to be. ”

“If any player comes to me and says I don’t feel comfortable and things like this, and I want to leave, our style of play blah blah, and more money, they I will have to think. That’s all I can say on this.”

As he nears the end of his first season in English football, Klopp was keen to stress that there is more to come from him.

“In my opinion I think I am a long term coach or manager. I like to change things, but that is only possible in the long-term.”
