Liverpool will face Napoli in the Champions League group stages again.
Thursday’s draw for Europe’s elite club competition pitted Jurgen Klopp’s side and the Serie A giants together for a third time in the previous four years.
The Reds lost in consecutive seasons to Napoli, once en route to claiming a sxith continental crown in 2018/19 and again in the following campaign.
Recent rivalries are set to be renewed elsewhere in Group A with Ajax set to do battle with the Anfield outfit just two years since their most recent clash.
On both occasions they ran out 1-0 winners over the Eridivisie side in 2020.
Liverpool will also face off against former players Ryan Kent and Ben Davies as Rangers were confirmed as their final Champinos League group opponents.
“It was only a couple of years back that we played two really tough matches against Ajax and we get drawn against Napoli pretty regularly, so we know quite a bit about both of them and they know quite a bit about us,” said Klopp.
“I know there will also be some new lessons to be learned, though. There always are.
“Rangers are a new opponent for us but we know them, too.
“The only certainty right now is that all of the six games will be incredibly competitive and really intense.
“I’m excited about it. It is a proper football group and a proper challenge.”
