Liverpool FC handed fresh injury blow ahead of Borussia Dortmund clash

Liverpool have been handed a fresh blow ahead of tomorrow’s Europa League clash with Borussia Dortmund as Roberto Firmino remains an injury concern.

The Brazilian has been struggling with a hamstring problem picked up during in the previous round against Manchester United last month and failed a fitness test ahead of last weekend’s draw with Tottenham.

Firmino’s potential absence comes as a blow to the Reds ahead of the quarter-final showdown with Dortmund. Firmino has been a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s setup since the turn of the year, netting an impressive seven goals in eight appearances before succumbing to injury.

Should he feature, the former Hoffenheim star will be among a quintent of Liverpool players that risk missing next week’s return leg through suspension.

Compatriot Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne and Alberto Moreno are the other players walking a disciplinary tightrope ahead of the game.
