Liverpool FC braced for summer transfer raid by Premier League rivals

Watford are weighing up a double swoop for Liverpool duo Joe Allen and Jordon Ibe.

Interest from the Hornets emerges as Allen’s current deal with the Reds enters its final 12 months this summer, with the Wales midfielder could consider his options due to a lack of opportunities under Jurgen Klopp.

Talks to extend the 26-year-old’s stay at Anfield have failed to progress since they previously took place at the end of last season, under Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers.

Quique Sanchez Flores has also targeted Ibe, who faces a similarly uncertain future amid Klopp’s interest in a reunion with Mario Gotze.

The 20-year-old’s tumultuous season was compounded as he was sent off for England’s under-21 side against Switzerland last weekend.

Want-away striker Jerome Sinclair, whose contract expires this summer, was previously targeted by Watford but the Premier League newcomers have yet to follow up their initial interest.
