Luis Suarez’s official transfer fee in his move from Liverpool to Barcelona has finally been revealed.
The Uruguay international left Anfield in summer 2014 for the Catalan giants for a reported £75 million.
But documents published by Football Leaks today reveal that Suarez was sold for just £64.98 million in a deal spread across five instalments paid to the Reds.
The payment structure of the leaked contract shows that Barcelona still have one final payment of £12.98 million to make in the deal, which is due on July 31 this year.
Signed by Suarez, Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre and Barca president Josep Bartomeu, the contract also shows that there were very few performance-related clauses in the contract which will not require Barcelona to pay Liverpool any additional fees in the event of him winning accolades such as the Ballon d’Or.
