Keith Harris has been hailed as ‘a great asset’ for Everton after being appointed to the club’s board of directors.
The former City of London financier previously advised the Blues on Farhad Moshiri’s investment as well as assisting a number of other club takeovers.
They included Fulham’s 2013 sale to Shahid Khan as well as the failed bid by the ‘Red Knights’ consortium trying to buy Manchester United three years prior.
Harris joins Everton chairman Bill Kenwright, Jon Woods, Sasha Ryazantsev, chief executive Robert Elstone and Denise Barrett-Baxendale on the board.
“We’ve strengthened our board significantly over the last six months and I’m really pleased that we’ve been able to add even more experience by bringing Keith in,” said Kenwright.
“He has a unique set of credentials and experience, combining roles at the highest level of international business with some of the most senior positions within football in this country, and will be a great asset.”
Harris’ background in football is not exclusive to his involvement in takeovers.
Between 2000 and 2002, the 65-year-old was the chairman of the Football League and spent six years as a director of Wembley Stadium’s owners, Wembley National Stadium.
