Koeman sets goals target for new Everton FC forward

Ronald Koeman has set Yannick Bolasie the challenge of emulating his previous goal-scoring exploits with Everton.

Bolasie amassed a combined nine goals across three seasons in the Premier League with Crystal Palace prior to securing a £28 million move to the Blues.

Koeman has previously made no secret of the DR Congo international’s need to improve on that tally ahead of his start to life at Goodison Park.

And the Everton manager believes that Bolasie, score-less in his first six games of the campaign, should be scaling his Selhurst Park heights again.

He said: “Yannick is very important because he is always running, always pressing and showed a fast reaction when he loses the ball.

“That’s what you need. It is not really what they want, what they do, but they have to learn, because everybody needs to have a fast reaction.

“With all the strikers, we do a lot of finishing exercises, also for the players who play wide on the left and right side.

“He did not miss chances, big chances, he had one chance (against Bournemouth), but of course it’s that type of player who will give more assists, than scoring.

“In general you expect 5-6 goals at least from every striker, wingers the same.”
