Muhamed Besic will miss most of Everton’s season after a knee injury ruled him out for six months.
The midfielder bowed out with the problem just 12 minutes in his appearance for the Blues during Wayne Rooney’s testimonial on Wednesday night.
And Besic has confirmed the extent of the injury by posting on his Twitter account this morning with the words ‘6 months out! devastated’.
News of the Bosnian’s setback comes as a major blow to Ronald Koeman’s plans as well as the 23-year-old’s plans to kick-start his Goodison Park career.
He suffered a hamstring problem last September that sidelined him for four months before a recurrence extended his lay-off period until March.
