Everton are reportedly trying to land Leicester City’s head of recruitment Steve Walsh.
With Marc Overmars staying at Ajax and Sevilla’s transfer mastermind Monchi remaining at the Europa League winners, the Blues are still yet to appoint a director of football.
Another option was dashed with Paris Saint-Germain’s appointment of Patrick Kluivert in the position earlier this week.
But the Daily Telegraph claim that Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri is hopeful that Walsh can deliver his impact with Leicester at Goodison Park.
Walsh identified the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy and N’Golo Kante among the players that guided the Foxes to the Premier League title last season.
The scout and Claudio Ranieri’s joint-assistant recently signed a contract until summer 2018 at the King Power Stadium.
Everton, however, are said to be willing to pay any hefty compensation package to secure Walsh’s services.
