Historic twist as Everton FC reveal new 2016-17 away kit

Everton have unveiled their new away kit for the 2016-17 season with a slightly historic twist.

The dark navy and salmon-trim strip lends itself to the colours won by the Blues during the 1890-91 season when they won their first of nine league titles.

Ronald Koeman’s players will be running out in the lightweight jersey, which is predominantly dark navy with a salmon colour on the inside layer, cuffs and V-neck rib collar, offering a striking visual contrast.

Like this season’s home strip, the away shirt celebrates Goodison Park’s heritage and includes the co-ordinates of the stadium inside the neck of the shirt.

The iconic signature of Archibald Leitch’s criss-cross architectural design also features, with Umbro including a Leitch-style graphic above the co-ordinates.

Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori said: “I feel very confident in this kit and cannot wait for the new season to be able to wear it.

“Everton’s history is fascinating and it’s nice that we can incorporate part of the club’s heritage into the kit.”

The new strip is available to pre-order now from Everton One at Goodison and Everton Two in Liverpool One as well as online at Everton Direct ahead of its July 22 sale.
