Everton take Storm Amy stadium measures

Everton have taken precautions against Storm Amy at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Heavy winds and driving rain are currently hammering the Liverpool City Region which has caused various transport disruptions and minor flooding in some areas.

Gusts of up to 55mph have been forecast during the firm storm of the season on Saturday (October 4) in conditions the Met Office are expecting to last until 7pm.

As a result, the Blues have confirmed that Everton Way and the Originals Fan Wall on the West Stand side of their home will not be accessible for safety reasons.

However David Moyes’ side insist that the move is not set to have any knock-on effect to preparations for Sunday’s Premier League encounter with Crystal Palace.

“We can advise that due to Storm Amy, and the severe weather currently affecting the region, Everton Way and the Originals Fan Wall at Hill Dickinson Stadium have been closed to visitors in the interests of safety,” read a club statement.

“The closure will not impact preparations for tomorrow’s Premier League fixture.”
