Everton FC legends to recall Howard Kendall memories in tribute show

Three Everton legends will share their memories of Howard Kendall in a tribute to the club’s greatest ever manager.

The football world was shocked by Kendall’s sudden passing last October, aged 69, but his legacy is set to be remembered in a one-off performance on Thursday, August 4.

Kendall’s widow Lillian will be present as Colin Harvey, Graeme Sharp and Peter Reid regale an audience at New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion with their memories in ‘Kendall’s Kings’.

Harvey played alongside Kendall and the late Alan Ball as part of the club’s Holy Trinity that inspired the Blues’ league title triumph of 1970.

The midfielder later became assistant to Kendall upon his appointment at Goodison Park before taking the reins when his former team mate left for Athletic Bilbao in 1987.

Sharp and Reid became Everton icons as part of Kendall’s all-conquering side of the mid 1980s which won two league championships, the FA Cup and the European Cup Winners’ Cup.

Exclusive audio clips and images from Kendall’s Everton life will be showcased alongside anecdotes from three men who knew him extensively in the show by journalist and broadcaster John Keith.

Also available on the evening will be copies of Simon Hart’s forthcoming book ‘Here We Go: Everton in the 1980s’, which will be on sale to be signed by the cast.

Tickets cost £19 (£16 concessions) and are available either in person at the Floral Pavilion’s box office, by calling 0151 666 0000 or online at floralpavilion.com.
