Sean Dyche admits he could ‘smell’ Everton’s collapse against Bournemouth.
Dyche’s side remain winless after they surrendered a two-goal cushion during the final nine minutes of Saturday’s Premier League clash at Goodison Park.
The Blues’ capitulation also marked the latest time that any team in modern top-flight history has thrown away such a comfortable advantage in a game.
But Dyche believes there was a sense of foreboding from the moment that Antoine Semenyo slid the ball home at close-range in the 87th minute.
He said: “For 87 minutes, it is a very good performance.
“Then after the first goal, I could smell it in the air and I am screaming at them to keep the shape, get the wide men tucked int and they get a win out of nowhere.
“It is the most frustrating, to dominate a game for that long and come out without anything is frustrating.
“As a manager, these are ones you shake your head at.
“Part of learning as a footballer is when you can smell it on the pitch.
“We are still looking for one twos and going for overlaps and we didn’t need to do that.”
