Neal Maupay has hit out at Everton fans that abused him and his teammates.
A handful of supporters confronted Sean Dyche’s side at Euston station to make their feelings known after Saturday’s four-goal thrashing by Tottenham.
Footage shared on social media showed Maupay and Mason Holgate among those to respond to the verbal barrage as they boarded the train home.
The forward took to X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday to respond to the viral clip.
“Imagine another job where it’s normalised to get abuse like this,” wrote Maupay.
“Hanging around at a train station to scream at men who are trying their best…”
The unsavoury scenes have since been condemned by the Everton Fans’ Forum, who claimed it ‘put Evertonians in the spotlight for the wrong reasons’.
