Everton forward Lewis Dobbin has sealed a move to Aston Villa.

Dobbin made 20 senior appearances during his time at Goodison Park and scored a solitary goal in a Premier League win over Chelsea last December.

The 21-year-old also enjoyed a spell on loan with League One’s Derby County, where he produced five goal in 54 games from all competitions.

His departure to Villa Park arrives just 24 hours after the Blues completed the signing of midfielder Tim Iroegbunam in a deal understood to be £9 million.

Following the move, Dobbin took to social media to send a message to Evertonians as he cuts ties with the club he joined as a youngster.

“Since the age of 11, I’ve called this club home,” he wrote.

A lifetime of memories. There’s been high points and lows but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

“I want to thank everyone associated with the club, from the staff, the players, the people behind the scenes, but most importantly you fans.

“Thank you for yoru constant support and messages.

“I felt like now was the right time to start a new adventure and continue to give it my all to achieve my dreams.

“I’ll forever be grateful for this club and wish you all nothing but the best in the future.”
