Ashley Young has urged Everton fans to keep the faith with their struggling team.
Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal saw Sean Dyche’s side remain winless after five Premier League games this season and only scoring in one of those.
The Blues’ prospects of a first domestic victory remain ominous ahead of a trip to Brentford as the visitors seek to escape the top flight’s relegation zone.
But Young delivered an impassioned plea for Evertonians to stay the course with Dyche and his squad in their most testing start to a season since 2005.
Asked what his message to the fans would be, he replied: “Stay with us. Keep backing us like they are, like they do.
“Everton fans are fantastic week in week out, whether we are at home or away.
“It is down to us as players on the pitch to go and keep them coming back and put points on the board.
“You look at the chances we have been creating in the games, and on different days it would be a different story.
“When you are creating those chances, it is down to everyone in the team, not just the forwards, to get the goals.
“I have got every confidence in the team and the squad that we can go and score goals.
“It is coming.”
