Moshiri in advanced Everton takeover talks

Farhad Moshiri is in advanced Everton takeover talks with 777 Partners.

The Miami-based group own a portfolio of clubs across the globe and have been in the background at Goodison Park since the turn of the calendar year.

But 777 are now the latest forerunner for ownership of the Blues, bringing an end to Moshiri’s premiership, after MSP Sports Capital ended their interest.

MSP have agreed to provide a £100 million bridging loan for the completion of Bramley-Moore Dock yet failed to take up a shareholding in the club itself.

That decision was understood to be driven by complications related to the involvement of Everton’s existing lender Rights and Media Funding Limited.

Moshri is understood to be exploring potential external investment options which would lead to the dilution of his 94.1% majority shareholding.

777’s emergence as the club’s potential new owner coincides with its co-founder Josh Wander being elected to the European Club Association’s board.
