Everton FC wait for Ronald Koeman’s appointment continues

Ronald Koeman appears no closer to being confirmed as the new Everton manager.

A compensation package worth £5 million was agreed by the Blues with Southampton last week but the 53-year-old’s confirmation as Roberto Martinez’s successor continues to drag on.

Koeman has returned to England this week, following a second end-of-season holiday, and will begin finalising personal terms ahead of his impending appointment.

Everton are understood to be planning to unveil the Barcelona legend as their new boss later this week.

The Dutchman is set to be afforded the biggest transfer budget of any manager in Goodison Park’s history, with the club’s new majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri preparing to bankroll a summer spending spree of up to £100 million.

Also set to follow Koeman from St Mary’s to Merseyside will be his brother Erwin, who will be appointed assistant manager, and fitness coach Jan Kluitemberg while first-team coach and Toffees icon Duncan Ferguson will also be retained as part of the new backroom set-up.
