Next generation to lead third Everton fan protest

Everton fans are set to hold a third pre-match protest against the club’s board.

Members of the Goodison Park hierarchy have not attended the previous three home games due to alleged threats to their personal safety.

A series of peaceful demonstrations took place outside the Blues’ home prior to the Premier League visits of Arsenal and Leeds United earlier this month.

Ahead of Saturday’s game with Aston Villa, supporters will again march from the Royal Oak pub on Spellow Lane an hour before the 3pm kick-off.

Organisers have asked that younger fans lead the latest protest to reflect the importance of future generations in a need for positive change at board level.

“Our next generation of our fanbase are so important to our club,” said a spokesperson.

“For much as I want a better Everton, it’s also vital that our club has a positive future for the kids in our fanbase too.

“Let’s push together to ensure they have better times than our generation have had.”
