Everton have been hit with a fresh Football Association disciplinary charge.

Last weekend’s win over Leeds saw both sets of players squaring up after Tyler Adams appeared to shove Dwight McNeil into advertising hoardings.

English football’s governing body has now announced that Sean Dyche’s side are facing a second confrontation charge in the space of barely a fortnight.

The latest sanctions come less than 24 hours after the Goodison Park club was issued a £40,000 fine for their players’ part in a Merseyside derby melee.

“Everton and Leeds United have both been charged for a mass confrontation that took place during their Premier League fixture on Saturday 18 February 2023,” confirmed an FA statement.

“It is alleged that, during the 42nd minute of the fixture, both clubs failed to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or failed to ensure that their players did not behave in a way which is improper and/or provocative.

“Both clubs have until Monday 27 February to provide their respective responses.”
