Salomon Rondon has left Everton after agreeing to terminate his contract early.

Rondon arrived at Goodison Park in summer 2021 from Chinese outfit Dalian Professional, where he worked with erstwhile Blues’ manager Rafael Benitez.

The Venezuela international was drafted in to provide cover for first-choice striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin but struggled to make any meaningful impact.

He scored just three goals from 31 appearances in all competitions, with his most recent outing coming in October’s 2-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

Rondon’s existing contract was due to expire at the end of this season but the 33-year-old agreed to curb his stay on Merseyside by six months on Friday.

“Salomon Rondon has left Everton with immediate effect after reaching an agreement with the club to terminate his contract,” confirmed an Everton statement.

“Everyone at Everton wishes Salomon all the best for the future.”
