Everton will be without Nathan Patterson for between four and five weeks.

Patterson was carried off on a stretcher after sustaining an ankle injury during Scotland’s eventual Nations League win over Ukraine last Wednesday.

The 20-year-old, an ever-present for Frank Lampard’s side this season, has since travelled to London to ascertain the full extent of his latest setback.

And Patterson is now set to be sidelined until at least late October with an identical injury to the one which curtailed his debut season at Goodison Park.

“Everton defender Nathan Patterson is expected to be out for around four to five weeks with an ankle injury,” confirmed a club statement.

“The 20-year-old Blues right-back was forced off while on international duty during Scotland’s Nations League win over Ukraine at Hampden Park last Wednesday.

“Following a consultation with a specialist in London, Patterson will now undergo treatment under the care of Everton’s medical team at Finch Farm.”
