Gerard Deulofeu hopes to be available in time for Everton’s first season under Ronald Koeman.
The Spain international is currently undergoing a detailed programme of rehabilitation after his season was ended by an injury nightmare.
Having struggled with problems all season, Deulofeu returned to the Blues side for the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester United in April.
However a training ground injury just three days later, after a collision with teammate Oumar Niasse, ended his season.
Despite his frustration, the former Barcelona star is determined to spend the summer preparing for life under a new manager, with Koeman’s appointment set to be confirmed shortly.
He said: “I played 20 minutes at Wembley very well, and I wanted to play the last three or four games better, but I was unlucky (with injury)”.
“Now it’s time for me to think about next season. I hope next season is much better than this one. Everton have given me a plan for the summer and I will do the plan.
“I’m so excited for the start of pre-season. I hope that next year is much better and Everton stay near the top of the league.”
