Everton are reportedly eyeing Crystal Palace defender Scott Dann as Ronald Koeman’s first signing.
Dann emerged as a target for the Blues last summer and is again on the club’s radar as Koeman prepares to start his Goodison Park reign.
Talks between Everton officials and Southampton are continuing as the two clubs prepare to settle a compensation package for the final year of the 53-year-old’s existing contract.
And Dann could become the maiden arrival of Koeman’s Everton tenure after the Dutch coach ran the rule over the 29-year-old in his existing role at St Mary’s.
But a move for the centre-back is likely to prove costly, with the Liverpool Echo claiming that Palace are unwilling to accept any offers below £15 million.
The Liverpool-born player’s prospective arrival would safeguard against the potential exit of John Stones and, should the England international remain, act as a long-term successor to captain Phil Jagielka.
