Everton have announced Stake.com as their new club-record shirt sponsor.
The online casino and sports betting platform’s name will adorn shirts of the Goodison Park club from the start of the 2022/23 Premier League season.
Blues’ chiefs claim the deal is the biggest front-of-shirt sponsorship in their entire history and understood to be worth in excess of £10 million per year.
It is the second time a gambling firm has become the club’s main sponsor, following on from SportPesa’s three-year agreement between 2017 and 2020.
Everton’s CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale admitted shortly before that deal ended that in an ‘ideal world’ the club would not have ties with betting firms.
But the decision to partner with Stake has been necessitated by a downturn in Everton’s commercial revenues following Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine.
The club suspended its longstanding sponsorship ties with several Russian companies under the USM umbrella, including MegaFon and Yota in March.
“Stake.com is an ambitious organisation with impressive growth plans and we’re all very excited to enter into a partnership with them at this stage in their journey,” said Barrett-Baxendale.
“My talented colleagues in our new Revenue Team have made excellent progress in recent months and worked tirelessly to secure what is the biggest main partnership deal in the club’s history.
“I’d like to congratulate them on this achievement and, on behalf of everyone at the club, express my gratitude to Stake.com for choosing Everton as a long-term partner.”
