Everton fans protest Pereira appointment

Everton fans have made clear their opposition to Vitor Pereira’s appointment.

Pereira is now the forerunner to assume the vacant Goodison Park hot seat after productive talks with the club’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

But the move has not been well received by some Blues supporters due to the Portuguese coach’s short-lived spell in charge of 1860 Munich four years ago.

At that time, Pereira was tasked with ensuring the German outfit avoided demotion from the second tier of the Bundesliga but failed in that endeavour.

His most recent spell in coaching at Fenerbahce ended after just five months.

The 53-year-old’s journeyman CV, with seven management roles during the previous decade, has only heightened doubts within the Everton fan base.

Some disenfranchised supporters sprayed graffiti outside Goodison on Tuesday opposing Pereira’s arrival and favouring Frank Lampard instead.

Earlier in the day, the 27 Years Campaign had been outside Everton’s Liver Building headquarters with banners urging Moshiri to act more decisively.
