Rafael Benitez has been shortlisted for the Premier League’s Manager of the Month.
Benitez began his Everton tenure with an unbeaten start to the new season that saw his news charges take seven points from their first three top-flight games.
He previously won Manager of the Month seven times across spells with Chelsea, Newcastle United and Liverpool, making him the eighth highest all-time recipient.
The Spaniard was named on the shortlist alongside ex-Blues boss David Moyes, now at West Ham, Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel and Nuno Espirito Santo of Spurs.
Also in the running for the Premier League’s monthly accolades from Goodison Park was Demarai Gray, who is nominated for August’s Player of the Month.
Gray sparked an impressive opening to his Everton career with back-to-back goals in both a 2-2 draw with Leeds United and the 2-0 win against Brighton.
The winger is vying alongside Spurs’ Eric Dier, Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood, Chelsea left-back Marcos Alonso and West Ham duo Michael Antonio and Said Benrahma.
Winners of both award will be decided by a public vote through the Premier League’s official website which will close at 12pm on Monday, September 6.
