Everton are set to meet with Unai Emery this week in a bid to land the triple Europa League-winning coach as their new manager.
Emery oversaw Sevilla’s third successive Europa League final last week as they overcame Liverpool in Basel and is believed to now be the front runner to replace Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park.
Everton sacked Martinez following a disappointing season, amid growing discontent from supporters, and they would prefer to secure his permanent successor before the start of pre-season.
Alongside Emery, the Blues have also been linked with a number of other coaches in their search for a new manager, including Southampton’s Ronald Koeman, former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini and Frank De Boer of Ajax.
Former Spartak Moscow coach Emery, has secured the Spanish club’s Champions League for 2016-17 and has led them to Copa del Rey final in this campaign.
