James Rodriguez and Jordan Pickford face late fitness tests for Everton’s FA Cup clash with Tottenham.
Pickford missed a 3-3 draw at Manchester United last weekend due to a rib injury sustained in the Blues’ previous game, a 2-0 home loss to Newcastle.
Rodrguez, meanwhile, is struggling to shake a calf problem which forced his withdrawal in the second half of the six-goal encounter at Old Trafford.
Carlo Ancelotti has now confirmed that the pair will both be assessed in training ahead of their fifth round meeting with Spurs on Wednesday.
However the Italian ruled out the prospect of Allan making his Everton return against Jose Mourinho’s side despite resuming full training last week.
“I have to wait for training in the afternoon to check some situations,” said Ancelotti.
“One is to check James to see if he’s available or not, one is Jordan to see if he’s available or not. They’re going to train and then after training we will see.
“Allan started with the team last week, he’s not ready yet. I hope that he will be ready next game.”
Ancelotti also outlined the conversations he had with Rodriguez which led to the Colombia international’s substitution after scoring against the Red Devils.
He added: “I think he had a little problem on his calf, a tight calf.
“I took him out after 70 minutes to avoid risk. Now he’s going to train today.
“If he’s ready to play tomorrow, he will play tomorrow – if he’s not ready and if the calf is still tight, he’s going to play in the next game on Sunday.
“He said that he felt the calf tight, he said to me at the end of the first half that his calf was tight and he wanted to continue.
“I said ‘take care of this, if you feel not comfortable then let me know’. He let me know during the second half and I took him out to avoid problem and risk.
“His calf was better yesterday, today he’s going to try and if he feels comfortable he’s going to play.
“If he doesn’t feel comfortable he won’t train tomorrow and he will train Thursday, Friday, Saturday and maybe he can play on Sunday.”
