Robin Olsen remains hopeful of securing a permanent move to Everton.
Olsen moved to Goodison Park in October on a season-long loan from Roma to provide competition to the club’s first-choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
The Sweden international has made seven appearances for the Blues this season, most recently in last weekend’s 3-3 draw at Manchester United.
Carlo Ancelotti is keen to tie up a long-term deal for the 31-year-old, who has now revealed that he is optimistic about that becoming a reality this summer.
“We [Olsen and his family] want to stay, but it is not me who decides,” he said.
“I can only cross my fingers and see what the club says.
“As a family, we have moved around and feel we are in a good place now.
“We are very happy, so why not stay until it is time to move home to Sweden? That is what we would choose.
“It is easy to say that – but everything needs to be sorted out.”
He added: “I knew I would have the competition with Jordan.
“Bt I have seen if I train well, I will get my chances and if I play well, I will get more chances.”
