Meis no longer involved in Everton stadium plan

Dan Meis has announced he is ‘not currently engaged’ in Everton’s new stadium plans.

Meis was enlisted as the architect for the Blues’ future home at Bramley-Moore Dock and created a striking design which was revealed in July 2019.

The American previously worked on blueprints for Los Angeles’ Staples Centre and Roma’s upcoming stadium as well as the Manchester Arena in the 1990s.

Planning permission for Bramley-Moore Dock is still being assessed by Liverpool City Council six months on from its original December submission.

But Meis has revealed that he is not involved in the process for the stadium in the north Liverpool docks, which is scheduled for completion in summer 2023.

“Let me be clear. I am fully confident that Bramley Moore will be built,” he wrote on Twitter.

“It is both right for the club and the city. Unfortunately I am not currently engaged in the project.

“How that was handled is one the greatest disappointments of my career, and at the appropriate time I will comment.

“For now please understand that this is my personal Twitter account and believe it or not, not everything I write is a reference to Everton.

“I love this club and have loved the interaction.”
