Everton goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg is set to rejoin Ajax this summer.
The Holland international has made 26 first-team appearances since arriving at Goodison Park in summer 2016 under his compatriot Ronald Koeman.
Stekelenburg alternated with Joel Robles in his debut season with the Blues before serving as understudy to new first-choice stopper Jordan Pickford.
He has signed a short-term extension with the club to complete the truncated 2019/20 Premier League season which will draw to a close at the end of July.
The 37-year-old’s final Everton outing is due to come on July 26 when Carlo Ancelotti’s side round off their campaign against Bournemouth at Goodison.
Stekelenburg will return to Ajax, where his professional career began in 2002 and he won three Eredivisie titles and three Dutch Cups in a nine-year spell.
