Niasse stopped by police in Manchester

Everton striker Oumar Niasse has been stopped by police in Manchester

Police pulled over the 29-year-old in Withington on Wednesday night after passengers in his Mercedes car were reported not to be wearing seatbelts.

A friend and two women were with the Senegal international, whose last Blues appearance came in January’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle, at the time.

Goodison Park officials were informed of Niasse’s conduct by Greater Manchester Police following the incident.

“At 9.30pm on Wednesday, covert officers on routine patrol stopped a vehicle,” the force confirmed.

“The driver was reported for failing to wear a seatbelt and obstructing officers.”

Niasse’s current contract is set to expire at the end of this season and will bring an end to a difficult four-year spell on Merseyside.

He was frozen out under Ronald Koeman in the 2016/17 season before being recalled by the Dutchman towards the end of his truncated tenure.

Since making a £13.5 million move from Locamotiv Moscow in January 2016, Niasse has scored nine goals in 42 appearances from all competitions.
