Carlo Ancelotti admits he is not worried by Moise Kean’s slow start at Everton.
Kean is expected to become a focal point of Ancelotti’s Goodison Park reign despite underwhelming since a high-profile summer move from Juventus.
Doubts over the Italy international’s future with the Blues intensified when he was substituted just 18 minutes of coming on against Manchester United.
However Ancelotti is taking a relaxed view on his compatriot and revealed a similar issue after signing Hirving Lozano for Napoli at the start of this season.
“He has to be patient because when you change countries and teams, it takes time to adapt,” admitted Ancelotti.
“I had the same with Lozano in Napoli. We signed him and it took time. This is absolutely normal.
“You don’t have to be pressured or worried, you have to work with him. But I think that [if] the quality in a player goes up, there’s no problems.
“You only have to wait and for Kean is the same.”
Duncan Ferguson will serve as Ancelotti’s assistant and hooked Kean during the Old Trafford encounter during his brief spell as Everton caretaker.
And the triple Champions League-winning coach believes that the former striker’s contribution will be invaluable in transforming the club’s fortunes.
He added: “I saw the team in the last four games and they showed a fantastic spirit. That was for Duncan, absolutely.
“He was able to, in so little a period, to change the spirit of the team and after this period, we can build a style of play that can attract the people and help the people to support us.”
