Ancelotti issues early Everton warning

Carlo Ancelotti admits his ‘dream’ of delivering success at Everton will not happen overnight.

Ancelotti sealed a return to the Premier League on Saturday as he was unveiled as Marco Silva’s successor in the Goodison Park hot seat.

The Italian penned a four-and-a-half year deal and will take his first Blues’ training session on Sunday ahead of a media unveiling the following day.

But while Ancelotti has outlined European qualification as a key aim, the Everton manager is under no illusions about the task which lies ahead.

He said: “I think the squad is good. I am here to improve the team and add better quality to the squad and I’ll try to do my best.

“Our goal is to be competitive in the Premier League, to be towards the top of the table, to be competitive in Europe.

“It’s not going to happen straight away but we have to work for this.
