Pickford dominates Everton end-of-season awards

Jordan Pickford scooped a hat-trick of honours at Everton’s end-of-season awards.

The England goalkeeper topped the votes for the Blues’ Player of the Season on Tuesday as well as the same accolade voted by his fellow teammates.

Pickford was also named Young Player of the Season in an impressive debut season at Goodison Park since sealing a £30 million move from Sunderland.

He said: “I wasn’t expecting to walk away with three awards tonight so I’m delighted and honoured.

“It means a lot to be voted for awards by the fans and your teammates. It’s been an enjoyable first season for me at a massive club.

“I’m confident I can keep improving and we will continue to improve as a team.

“The goal for us now is to win these final two games of the season and then get off to a good start next season.”

Seamus Coleman received the People’s Club Award while Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines won the Howard Kendall Award in recognition of their 11 years of service.

Goodison legend Adrian Heath became the latest Everton Giant for his contribution to Everton’s trophy-laden spell in the mid-1980s.

Youngster Morgan Feeney was named the Under-23 Player of the Season while Angharad James took home the Ladies’ Player of the Season award.

Joe Royle, who won silverware as both a player and manager with Everton, was the recipient of the club’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
