Tosun makes Everton first-team return vow

Cenk Tosun has vowed to return to Everton’s starting line-up within two weeks.

Tosun joined the Blues from Besiktas last month but was forced to contend with a substitute role since making his debut in a 4-1 defeat against Tottenham.

The Turkey international’s most recent match days inclusion saw him fail to feature as Sam Allardyce’s side beat Crystal Palace last weekend.

Allardyce has since claimed the £27 million forward is struggling to cope with the weather in England and needs to improve his fitness to push for a starring role.

Tosun responded to his manager’s remarks by insisting that his return to first-team action will be a swift one.

“I am in a completely different league,” he told Turkish Football.

“I’m doing everything to settle in and bond with my new teammates.

“I did not play in the last game but it does not bother me. I am just focused on my game and training hard.

“I am going to be a lot fitter in a fortnight’s time and then return to the starting 11.”
