Everton consider recalling defender from loan

Everton are considering recalling Brendan Galloway from his Sunderland loan.

Galloway is spending this season with the Championship’s bottom side but found first-team opportunities increasingly limited at the Stadium of Light.

The Blues full-back has featured just eight times for the Black Cats, with his last appearance coming in December’s goalless draw with a high-flying Wolves.

And Sam Allardyce is now weighing up whether to bring Galloway back from his former club due to a current lack of regular playing time in the North East.

Galloway spent the previous campaign on loan at West Brom but returned to Goodison Park in April after completing just five outings for the Midlands side.

Meanwhile Everton have announced a new partnership with Gatorade.

The American sports drink giant will become the Blues’ official Sports Nutrition Partner, fuelling the first-team for both Premier League games and training sessions.

Everton’s performance nutritionist Lloyd Parker said: “The need for Premier League footballers to fuel their bodies in the best possible way has never been higher and this new partnership with Gatorade will ensure that we are able to do just that.

“Working alongside Gatorade will enable our First Team squad to benefit from their portfolio of science-backed products, which have been developed alongside some of the world’s leading athletes and are underpinned by Everton and Gatorade’s commitment to scientific research.”

The Gatorade deal is just the latest in a series of new partnerships agreed by Everton this season, following SportPesa’s arrival as the club’s shirt sponsors.

Angry Birds creator Rovio also signed on at Goodison Park as the Toffees’ first-ever shirt sleeve sponsor in September last year.
