Farhad Moshiri has hailed Sam Allardyce as a ‘strong leader’ Everton require.
Allardyce was confirmed as the Blues’ new manager on Wednesday despite previously ruling himself out of the running, citing a lack of interest.
The one-time England boss will be in attendance at Goodison Park for the visit of West Ham, which will be David Unsworth’s final game in temporary charge.
An Everton statement confirmed Allardyce will finalise terms on becoming Ronald Koeman’s permanent successor at the club’s Finch Farm base before the game.
Moshiri, the Toffees’ majority shareholder, has told to TalkSport broadcaster Jim White that the 63-year-old is well equipped to take the club forward.
He said: “I really want to give him the support he needs.
“He can go as far as he wants.
“We need a strong leader, he gives us that.”
Former Liverpool coach Sammy Lee and Craig Shakespeare, recently sacked by Leicester City, will form part of Allardyce’s new-look backroom setup.
Unsworth, who has served as Everton caretaker for seven games, and first-team coach Duncan Ferguson are expected to retain their current roles at Goodison.
