Everton board give ‘full, total support’ to Koeman

Roanld Koeman insists he has the ‘full, total support’ of the Everton hierarchy.

A disappointing start to the season has seen the Blues manage to win just three games in all competitions with Koeman firmly under pressure from the club’s fan base.

Some sections of the Goodison Park crowd have called for the Dutchman’s sacking while several bookmakers have made him favourite to be sacked next.

Everton chiefs Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright offered their renewed backing to Koeman in a meeting during a surprise visit to Finch Farm last Friday.

An under-fire Koeman believes that he still has the full backing of both Moshiri and Kenwright as well as the rest of the club’s board at this moment in time.

He said: “Moshiri was here (last week) but it was not only him, it was Bill Kenwright and more people from the board.

“It was because they did not see the new building until last Friday and of course if they are in you have a good lunch and speak about football.

“There was no message but the feeling is that they are behind the team and behind the manager.

“Okay, everybody knows that’s a nice thing but in football, it’s all about results.

“If you are a long time in football maybe you know better about this situation but for now it’s full, total support from the board.”
