Everton launch new Goodison Park legends tour

Evertonians can now walk alongside Goodison Park legends as well as in their footsteps.

A newly-launched experience allow Blues fans to go behind-the-scenes on the eve of matches with some of the most familiar faces to grace the iconic stadium.

Former Everton captain Mark Higgins kicked off the inaugural set of tours on September 22, just 24 hours before Bournemouth’s visit to Goodison.

Supporters begin in the Dixie Dean Suite before moving onto the directors’ box and working their way down to the home and away dressing rooms.

Higgins, who made 183 appearances for Everton, is on hand with a vast knowledge of the club’s history as well as personal anecdotes from his playing days.

The ex-defender has plenty of stories about legendary team mates and playing under the Holy Trinity of Howard Kendall, Colin Harvey and Alan Ball.

Guests will see the various preparations taking place ahead of the next day’s game before embarking on the famous tunnel walk out to the sound of Z-Cars.

As well as Everton icons, fans can experience life from Ronald Koeman’s match day perspective with a seat in the dugout and visiting the Media Centre.

There is an added bonus of Q&A session with a set of ex-Toffees players as drinks and canapes are served before taking photographs before the tour ends.

All guests also receive an exclusive gift set to take home as well as a 20% discount for the Everton One store a short walk from Goodison itself.

“Goodison Park is more than just a football ground, it’s a piece of history and has many special stories both on and off the pitch,” said Higgins.

“Each time I return to the ground I’m transported back to some of my fondest memories and I know that’s the same for the club legends we have lined up this season.

“Through this new tour, I’m looking forward to reliving their stories with fellow Blues.

“Even if you’ve been to Goodison Park hundreds of times before, I can guarantee you’ll see it differently after one of our Legend’s Tours.”

Barry Horne and club ambassador Ian Snodin will join Higgins on September 30, ahead of the Burnley game, to discuss their respective Everton experiences.

Tours will take place at 2pm and 4pm on the day before home games. Tickets are priced at £99 and available by calling 0151 556 1878.
