Everton FC and Sunderland to wear Bradley Lowery shirts

Everton will honour Bradley Lowery during their Carabao Cup tie with Sunderland.

Both clubs have confirmed that they will wear the logo of the foundation set up in the late six-year-old’s memory on their shirts for Wednesday’s encounter.

The Blues’ official kit sponsor SportPesa have donated their space for the Goodison Park game, as have their opponents’ main partner Dafabet.

Sunderland fan Bradley passed away on July 7 following a brave battle with neuroblastoma.

The Bradley Lowery Foundation was launched earlier this month with a celebrity charity match at Goodison, where the clubs will contest the third-round tie.

It will offer fans of both sides an opportunity to pay tribute to the brave young boy whose smile touched the hearts of millions of football fans across the world.

Everton forged a strong link with the young Black Cats fan and members of Bradley’s family will also be at Goodison as special guests of SportPesa.

Bradley’s mum Gemma Lowery said: “We are absolutely thrilled to see the Foundation logo on the front of the shirts.

“The game has a very special meaning to myself and (his dad) Carl and we are overwhelmed by the support we have received from Sunderland and Everton.

“Bradley will be watching over everyone and I’m sure he would be very proud that his legacy can now help others.”
