Ronald Koeman claims it is ‘not realistic’ to expect Everton to currently rival Tottenham.
The north Londoners ran out comprehensive 3-0 winners at Goodison Park on Saturday thanks to an inspired performance from striker Harry Kane.
Spurs’ continued resurgence under Mauricio Pochettino leaves well-placed for a third successive Premier League title challenge in as many seasons.
But Koeman believes that the Blues are still some way from emulating Tottenham due to the longevity of his opposite number’s assembled squad.
He said: “If you look to the second half, we are really far away [but] if you look to the first 30 minutes, it’s different.
“But the difference between Everton and Tottenham is that they worked a long time now with the same players.
“It’s not realistic to expect that Everton just is already at that level.
“If you think we need to be at that level, then it will be really difficult.”
